    Defective Accounting software

I have installed a defective e-commerce system for my company - in essence the software is unable to calculate uk VAT correctly. The company have acknowledged the bug but seem unable to fix it. They are American but have UK offices.

Because of the bug, we are unable to progress the project so am exploring the possibilities of suing them for 5/6 weeks work - Preparing assets, Payment Gateway and systems setup, web site integration, fulfillment company liaison, ongoing hosting costs, security certificates, testing, bug hunting plus I have been paid monies in advance by my client which will have to be returned.

Question is - is this Dooable?

    Hello MarkLondon,

Thanks for your post. When you purchased the product, were you made to believe that the software would function properly for the UK market? If there was no indication that you would not be able to use it for calculating UK VAT, you could have a case for suing the company. You should speak to a specialist consumer law solicitor for further clarification. Contact Law can put you in touch with a solicitor in your area.

    Good luck,
