    Medical neglegence in prison

just before my release from prison I visited a dentist 20/07/11 there who extracted my tooth.
But it turned out that He broke the tooth, removed the crown and left roots inside.
I still feel pain and some parts of tooth roots are still visible.
    what can I do?

    Hi internati28,

Thanks for your post. It depends on whether the prison is privately run or not. If it is, you will have to send your complaint direct to the prison. If not, you can follow the NHS complaints procedure.

Here is a list of addresses and phone numbers for ICAS who deal with prisoners' complaints about the NHS.

However, if you want to take legal action and seek compensation, do not follow the NHS complaints procedure. Instead, you will have to contact a medical negligence solicitor and explain your case.

If you want to be matched to a solicitor, Contact Law can help you find a local specialist.

    Good luck,
