    Attacked

I am write because of my brother who was attacked and fighting by around 7 guys.
Someone call to ambulance and police.
When police comming they didn't ask guys who was looking for this and who was fighting him what's happen.
Police asked my brother about home address but he didn't say because worred that people who live there will come to find who did it. Maybe not but he wasn't sure.
Police take him out of place where he was live and sent him home without shoes.
They comeback after few minutes to aressted him because he was walking. He lived in other part of city so he walked to home.
After arrested next day they sent him home and sent letter to go to court.

I try contact with police in chagrge but he not answer. I spoke with 2 people who should pass him message but from Monday to now noone contact me.
I just want to know from police why he was 1 and was fighting is going to court, because he is Polish?
And also I want know he will has got any translator in the court.

As I know the same day was fighting more people by british people, also was fighting girl.

I write because for me it was diskrymination. He had got fighting in head and all body are in brust. It look horrible.

I spoke with advice they sent me to salicitor, but salicitor is not for free. They cost a lot of money.

Can someone can help me what I have to do before court and in the court ? I am polish so I don't know well law in uk, but from my point of view it is diskrimination. Can I take police to court in this case?

    Hi szczegel,

Thanks for your post. If you believe the police have discriminated against your brother, you should make an official complaint to the police. It is best to contact the police force involved directly by attending a police station in person or contacting a solicitor or MP who can make a complaint on your behalf.

Here are some leaflets in Polish about how to complain about the police.

Another good source of legal information you can try is the Citizens Advice Bureau.

    Good luck,
