Thanks for your post. Children are allowed to visit their parents in prison, but if they are aged under 18, they will usually need to be accompanied by an adult.
As for physical contact, assuming the visit takes place in a visit hall and not in a closed visit, hugging and kissing is usually permitted but long or passionate embraces or kisses are not permitted and may result in a visit being terminated. Younger children are usually permitted a greater level of physical contact.
