Do you think it is acceptable to take items from bins?

Is it ever ok to take something that has been thrown away? Freegans exclusively eat food that has been thrown away from supermarkets and restaurants. Some people think it's ok to take clothes left outside charity shops. Others take items from skips. What do you think?

    HI
I dont think that some people`s waste should be the needs of another because this evidently destroys equality and demonstrates the major differences of standards of living in even small towns. However not everyone is provided with the accurate and equal circumstances so they are left to use the waste of others without any other option.. for e.g eating leftovers of wealthier people. Therefore it is not acceptable but people do not view it in a sensational manner but rather see it as an urgent need. They are the victims of circumstances (my point of view).

So, some poeple are forced to take waste items out of necessity. But what about those people who do it as a lifestyle choice? Is this strange or wrong or a good way to ensure that perfectly good items do not get wasted?
