Legal aid change refused, going alone, but is it my human rights2have representation
hi there, i hope some one can help or advise me on a matter of law. i was arrested in june and used a duty solicitor, in interview he filled out all the legal aid forms ? in the interview room ? should i have been given a chance after getting bailed to find myself a solicitor who ''I THINK IS BEST FOR ME'' ? NOT the one from duty solicitor ? 4wks after bail i went back to police station and got charged, NO SOLICITOR TURNED UP and had had no contact with this solicitor by phone or interview nothing. 4wks later im in magistrates court and i finally meet my solicitor, i was not happy with the service that was being given to me by this firm. got nxt court date which is coming up next week. i went to a new solicitor last week who i found was good for my needs, now legal aid wont let me get a solicitor who i have appointed and found my self. its my liberty on the line here and want to get the best help i can. if i go court nxt week, then committed to crown, will the crown court judge let the case go ahead even though i have no legal representation. surely that would be a unfair trial and a breach of my human rights to get a fair trial. i dont no what to do ?
