assault and racial abuse at work

    hi there!
i've been a victim of assault and racial abuse at my work place.
i did reported to my superiors by writing(a letter telling them what happend).
the person involved is an official on a london buses industry,he is actually been put on is post and I didn't have any information about the investigation.
I feel very intimidated to go to work and face this person.
because the incident happened on october 29 and did reported 2 weeks later,I just wonder if I can take the case to the tribunal witch I
bellieve it experires after 21 days of the actually incindent.

    Hi caboverde1975,

Thanks for posting. What a terrible thing you have experienced. If you have been physically assaulted in your workplace, you must report it to the police as this is a criminal offence.

Also, your superiors should have officially recorded your complaint. If your compaint was ignored, you are well within your rights to go to an employment tribunal. The time limit for claims is usually three months of the date when the matter you are complaining about happened. This time limit can vary depending on what your claim is about.

If you want to be put in touch with a local solicitor who can give you professional legal advice, speak to Contact Law. Alternatively you can go to the Acas website.

    Good luck,
