Have they given you a 30 day consultation period to negociate these changes to your conract as they should?
Hi
I've been employed on a part-time contract for 10 years following my return to work after maternity leave, for the past 2 years I've had on-going overtime every week during term-time. My employers have now advised that the overtime will be stopped (even though the demand for work is still there) as they have to accommodate another employee coming back from maternity leave who has also now requested part-time hours. I have stated that if I am to be dropped back to my part-time hours this will mean a reduction in my annual take home income of almost £6000, and will in all likelyhood leave me no alternative but to seek employment elsewhere - I was imformed wasn't their problem and I've also been advised that my contracted hours no longer work for the business (after 10 years) and that they may need to make changes to the days of the week i work, however these had been agreed to work around my family committments.
I've worked for this company for over 20 years and am quite distressed with the current situation.
Thanks
