Thanks for posting. If you want to keep your house safe from divorce settlements, since you are not yet married you could consider drawing up a prenuptial agreement. Although, take note that these are not strictly enforceable in English courts but may be regarded as persuasive in subsequent divorce proceedings.
If your house is registered in your name alone, you may be able to hold onto it through a divorce but various factors will come into consideration such as if your partner made any contributions, how long you lived together in the house etc.
The non-house-owner may also apply to the Land Registry to protect their rights of occupation to the matrimonial or civil partnership home.
