    Exclamation Spousal Maintenance

My husband wants a divorce and wants to split the sale of the house down the middle. So Id probably get about £70,000 and the he wants a clean break and gives me extra £30,000 for 33 years of marriage and looking after the family and house. He wants to give me spousal maintenance but not for life as he said I can get a job but I havent worked for nearly 16years. How much am I entitled to .

No matter how amicable the split you should be very careful on what you decide to do. After 33 years of marriage and not working for quite a number of years you need to think of the future and pension, which you may not have. As well as the house split you need to look at the pension he has and what you have and think about a pension sharing order so that you can be more comfortable in retirement. Please seek advice on what you are legally entitled to as after the finances are agreed you can't go back and get more. You need to be selfish and think of your own future.
