Urgent question regarding fathers rights

Hello Folks, I would greatly appreciate any advice people of this forum could offer with regards to my brother in-laws situation. Nearly three years ago he had a child with his girlfriend in the Philippines. His daughter's birth was registered in the Philippines and she was given his surname. They lived together happily for two years when unfortunately he and her mother separated for a few weeks. During that time his girlfriend sent their daughter away to live with other members of her family and refused to tell him where she was. Distraught and unable to find his daughter he eventually 'patched up' his relationship with his daughter's mother and regained access to her. They managed to rebuild their relationship and decided to move to the UK later that year to build a better life. They arranged a British / Philippine passport for their daughter and came to live in the UK. The mother was only able to apply for a 6 month holiday visa which is due to expire shortly. They have now regrettably decided to separate again and neither one of them wants to allow the other to keep custody of their daughter. My brother is desperate to keep his daughter in the UK after his ordeal last time they separated when living in the Philippines, when he lost access to his daughter completely. He is terrified that he will loose all contact if he allows her mother to return to the Philippines with his daughter. Can anyone advise what situation they legally find themselves in? This is an awful situation for them both and any informed advice anyone could offer would be great fully received!

If his name is mentioned in the Birth Certificate of the child
Or if he is MARRIED to the mother at the time of birth
He can apply for PROHIBITIVE STEOS ORDER
The mother will not be allowed to remove the child until, the residence order is passed
Fathers have equal rights on child

What is the status of fathers UK stay....I assume he is a British national ?
Or has leave to remain and work and NOT holiday ?
What Visa is the child here on
