Hi. I seem to have a problem regarding a paying back a deposit. I am a current tenant and i have rented a room. a person contacted me and we friendly agreed that she wants the room. a friend of the person came and checked the flat before moving in and i have sent pictures as well for her to see (she is from a different country). we agreed that she is going to stay for an year. we have waited for 3 weeks for her to move in time in which we have cancelled all the potential tenants for the room. after she moved in, in two weeks she said that she is moving out. do i have to pay the deposit back?
No contract was signed. i have on my bank statement the deposit transfer that has been made and the 2 weeks rent was paid in hand.
