If the owner of a house disappeared, what would eventually happen to the legal ownership of the house?

How long would it take for anything to happen?

If you lived in it for 10 years (if moved in after 2002) its yours or 12 years if moved in before 2002. Just 1 simple Claim form, This also applies if you live next door, for example and have been using the empty property/ garden/ garage etc for 10 or 12 years.
