    Article Author Impersonation

I've written a number of articles for a publisher - and have a contract with them with the usual clauses about copyright you would expect

However in their recent issue it has an article in it which I did not write - and of course it has my name to it.

A month ago I decided not to write any more for this publication - so do not want, or need to, maintain a relationship with them. However I've concerned about this article - which I do not believe is very good.

What recourse do I have? Can I write them a Cease and Desist letter - and if so on what basis?

    Hi hughie,

Thanks for your post. You're right, this is a form of impersonation and sending a cease and desist letter would be a good first step.

If you are uncertain how to word your letter, you should speak to a solicitor or ask one to write the letter for you. This will also add more weight to your letter. Solicitors do not charge too much for writing cease and desist letters.

If you want to be put in touch with a solicitor in your area, try going through Contact Law's website or call them on 0808 1497 890.

    Good luck,
