    Opening a business

I would really like to open a small retail business, such as a bookstore, in my town. How do I get started understanding the requirements to open my own business?

HMRC/Companies House produce very helpful booklets. You need to decide whether to start as a sole trader/partnership/limited company. In my view incorporation is preferred since any extra paperwork is offset by the benefit of limited liability but it depends on many factors. Suggest you speak to people already running a business to get a wide variety of views.
